York Math provides teaching and learning materials from Primary 1 to Primary 6. Each
Grade is tailored to meet the outcomes listed in the scope and sequence and each
Grade consists of three core components:

• Learner’s Books
• Teacher’s Guides
• Work Books

The course is fully integrated between Learner’s Book and other components and
teaching guidance for how to use all components, including full lesson plans, are included in the Teacher’s Guide.

The strength of the York Math is its approach to problem-solving and the introduction of
games to the learning of Mathematics. The games are full of fun, challenging and
stimulates curiosity.

The game page is always at the beginning of the sub-strand and it is connected to a specific lesson in the sub-strand. However, they are played after the lessons within a sub-strand which have been completed.

York Math is deliberately written to improve problem-solving skills of learners and make
them improve on their critical thinking skills. The books make learning and teaching of
Mathematics more practical. Several activities have been created right from the
warmers, introduction, building of lesson contents and there are review and assessment
activities too.

The books have duly been approved by NaCCA for use in both private and public
schools. They have also been rated high by MoE Quality Assurance team and the
books have been adopted by MoE as official math textbooks for GES public schools.
